PP - Pre-primary students will explore the origin of clay and design clay sculptures.
PK - Pre-kindergarteners will learn about different cultures through dance and music.
K/1 - Kindergarten and first graders will study snowflakes and make snow.
2/3 - Second and third graders will discuss the many uses of duct tape and design duct tape wallets.
4/5/6 – Fourth, fifth and sixth graders will experiment with the art of Claymation and create a mini-movie.

PP - Pre-primary students will read the story of "The Gingerbread Man" and make cookies.
PK - Pre-kindergarteners will take an imaginary trip around the world on the Polar Express.
K/1 – Kindergarten and first graders will have a ‘ball’ inventing new games using only a ball and their imaginations.
2/3 – Second and third graders will study string art and make a piece of inspirational string art.
4/5/6 – Fourth, fifth and sixth graders will put the final touches on their Claymation mini-movie.

PP - Pre-primary students will design winter wreaths to get ready for the winter break.
PK - Pre-kindergarteners will read stories and share family traditions to celebrate the winter holidays.
K/1 - Kindergarten and first graders learn about holiday traditions around the world and learn about the winter solstice.
2/3 - Second and third graders will share their New Year's resolutions and create resolution necklaces.
4/5/6 - Fourth, fifth and sixth graders will explore the ecosystem and design eco-friendly board games.

The kids enjoyed making grilled cheese with their own ingredients! We had a ton of fun with Chef Pierre and the taste test!!

2nd and 3rd grade Discovery made their own bouncy balls. Using corn starch, water, glue and food coloring the students created a unique toy to take home. The teachers advised NOT to throw in the house!

Summer Camp Registration Now Available Online
Welcome to Camp Discovery at The Children’s School! At Camp Discovery, every day is a new adventure. From braving a 10-foot water slide to taking field trips to everywhere from the Atlanta Aquarium to Chuck-E-Cheese to making arts and crafts, science experiments and video editing projects, our campers spend a summer laughing, learning and delighting in new experiences, making new friends and creating cherished childhood memories. Offered June 11 through August 3, Camp Discovery is open to students age 3 up to rising fourth graders. All sessions include at least one weekly field trip, art projects, organized games and free play, in addition to the Camp Discovery theme-specific curriculum. Summer Camp registration now available online.

Character & Community Festival 2011
With the school-wide focus on kindness for the 2011-12 school year, the Character and Community Festival featured workshops and art projects exploring the ideas of acts of kindness, acceptance, and respect. Through this festival, the School acknowledged the global society through various performing arts, including music and dance from around the world, as well as an international fruit break and luncheon. A great time was had by all!
